DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will develop and implement effective work processes and procedures. You will provide orientation and training for staff and inmate workers involved in food service operations. Additionally, you will oversee and inspect food service areas, equipment, and food to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards. You will analyze inmate census data to ensure a sufficient supply of food meets both regular and special dietary needs. You will also review and recommend requisitions for food, supplies, and equipment based on past and projected usage. Your responsibilities will include supervising the installation, operation, and maintenance of all equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance, as well as planning and coordinating adequate staffing coverage.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours will be determined, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Corrections Food Service Instructor; or
- Three years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation, which included one year of lead work experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which included one year of lead work experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
