Purpose/Summary:

• Design and document fixtures, jigs, templates, gages for the purpose of manufacture assembly or inspection of non-rotational components for the aerospace industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create and/or modify concept layouts, 3D parametric models, assemblies, and detail drawings, utilizing Siemens NX v2312, Solid Edge 2021.
• Detail drawings to be fully annotated as required for manufacturing utilizing ASME Y14 standards (GD&T).
• Provide design solutions while being mindful of form, fit, function, manufacturability, and cost.
• Maintain Technical Data Package throughout product lifecycle, e.g. drawings, revision history, BOMs, etc.
• Collaborate with Customers, Program Managers and Manufacturing through product development.

Education / experience

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or 10 years equivalent work-related experience.

Training (with proficiency):

• 3D parametric software such as NX, Solidworks, Creo, Catia.
• MS Windows / Office.

Knowledge of:

• Engineering design practices/principles, e.g. interference checks, fits, tolerance stack-ups, etc
• Aerospace component / tooling manufacturing concepts using traditional / non-traditional processes.
