Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for turning internal and external data into value for the organization, developing operational metrics and programs that solve problems to drive process efficiency, and standards across the enterprise Logistics function. This role is tasked with driving improvements across enterprise Logistics operations including both center-led and within the regions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises staff including hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and performance management.
- Develops and tracks all Enterprise Logistics Operations Metrics, including productivity, profitability, and safety.
- Drives accountability in partnering with Finance to conduct monthly P&L.
- Reviews performance to drive continuous improvement and goal attainment.
- Acts as an analytical thought-leader for nationwide dispatch, fleet management, and route optimization.
- Coaches and mentors regional logistics teams to improve effectiveness and drive the elimination of waste across the business units.
- Implements productivity forecasting, planning, scheduling, and data analytics to deliver a comprehensive approach to drive on-time, effective logistics operations including employed staff, third-party, and other logistical elements (e.g. FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Contributes to the writing and review of corporate and site-specific logistics policies including operational safety standards.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a closely related field; AND five (5) years of professional experience in logistics management; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Required Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge:
- Principles and practices of logistics management
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
- Business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources.
- Principles and practices of financial/statistical analysis.
- Advanced principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees, and managing in a team environment.
- Applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Computer applications and systems related to the work.
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

- Preparing accurate financial and operational analyses.
- Interpreting, explaining, and applying principles and practices of budgeting, cost projection, revenue control, and modeling.
