Summary:

In this role, you will contribute to all aspects of supply chain sourcing processes and strategic sourcing initiatives for pharmacy contracts with a focus on plasma-derived products, 503B outsourced pharmaceutical products, services, and other contracts as assigned. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of acute and non-acute agreements for Vizient's industry leading pharmacy sourcing portfolio which includes but not limited to negotiation and implementation of contracts, market opportunity identification as well as strategy and portfolio development. This position reports to the Director-Pharmacy Sourcing and is required to be based in the Irving, TX office- no exceptions.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and evaluate the use of drugs in hospital pharmacy as well as in home care, managed care, physician practices, and ambulatory centers.
  • Assist in the development of Vizient market opportunities and strategies to pursue programs and contracts ensuring optimal utilization and member value.
  • Serve as a category expert for members, suppliers, distributors, Vizient field team, advisory solutions, legal, and finance for assigned portfolio.
  • Monitor contract performance for market competitiveness and adherence to terms and conditions while collaborating with peers to deliver supply chain needs.
  • Effectively communicate and present (formally and informally) to market internal and external stakeholders while serving as subject matter expert and resource. This may include prominent health care organizations and pharmaceutical drug companies.
  • Maintain a very high level of customer satisfaction for all suppliers, distributors, and providers by fostering and building collaborative business relationships.
  • Conduct bid analysis, award and manage contracts to Vizient Contract Processes and Standards as assigned.
  • Manage financial aspects of the assigned contracts including budget accruals, forecasting and revenue expectations.
  • Provide direction and guidance to assigned portfolio analyst.
  • Stay abreast of relevant industry trends and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 2 or more years' experience in pharmacy practice or relevant field required.
  • Experience in pharmacy contracting preferred.
  • Strategic and rigorous analytical agility while using sound judgment to set objectives and proven track record of delivering results.
  • Critical thinking and an attention to detail mindset that is service-oriented is essential.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and cross-functional interaction skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
