Aon is looking for an Associate Director in Bannonckburn!

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Associate Service Center within Aon Risk Solutions in Bannockburn, IL. As an Associate Director, you will report directly to the Director of ACS Client Services, and manage the workflow of a team of 8-10.

Your impact as an Associate Director

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall employee performance and where appropriate communicate disciplinary and corrective action.
  • Makes employment decisions, evaluates and rewards staff performance, recommends training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure team is resolving inquiries associated with all aspects of ACS service delivery and providing consultative services and solutions to insured inquiries (e.g. output delivery, binder transmittal, coverage inquiries, policy changes, accounting inquiries, policy digests, contract review, etc.).
  • Schedule and organizes personnel to accommodate workflow; distributes work assignments to specialists based on specific levels of expertise.
  • Periodically review work performed by staff members to verify that specialists identify and retrieve relevant compliance documentation necessary to process renewals, invoices, surplus lines filing and any other ACS deliverables.
  • Validate staff members are performing the necessary activities to initiate and deliver a renewal, process an invoice, issue auto IDs, process surplus lines, issues emergency certificates, resolve premium account discrepancies, initiate endorsements, process vehicle suspensions and process other client requests.
  • Follow-up with specialist for status on large overdue financial items from Brokers, Account Executives and/or Account Specialists and report on the status for month and quarter close.
  • Ensure specialists keep the system of record accurate and current. Proper maintenance of documentation in electronic management system.
  • Assist specialists in developing effective relationship with outsourced provider. Coordinate activities with other internal units as required to meet customer expectations.
  • Review specialist performance to determine if client fulfillment is in accordance with client's expectations as it relates to timeliness and accuracy of deliverables (policy checks, certificates, invoices, endorsements, policy reviews, etc.).
  • Help team members and colleagues troubleshoot and resolve client issues around ACS deliverables.
  • Provide direction and guidance to team members who are confronted with unfamiliar or complex client issues. Participate in office and client visits. Participate in the development of client solutions with Resident Managing Directors, Originators and Account Executives.
  • Routinely confers with the team to ensure they are properly supported and provided with appropriate tools and training. Develop, recommend, implement, and interpret client service procedures; evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of current operations and systems.
  • Develop, interpret, and ensure the consistent application of department policies.
  • Addresses unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refer to the appropriate individuals; researches complex issues and handles their resolution.

It is imperative that the individual is a teammate and demonstrates flexibility and willingness to complete tasks as required.

Required Experience:
  • The position requires at least 5 years insurance/accountancy/management experience with sufficient proven experience in managing teams.
  • Evidenced leadership skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Have good technical knowledge of insurance, reinsurance and/or the captive and insurance management industry along with a reasonable knowledge of accounting, taxation and legal issues relating to captives
  • Have an eye for detail and able to provide an overview of wordings, contracts etc.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to plan team deliverables and to work to deadlines
  • Work effectively with the rest of the office Management team
  • Understand the impact of operational/business strategy and operational plans
  • Be enthusiastic, self-motivated and display initiative
  • Be focused on client service needs in order to achieve client service excellence
Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $82,100 - 100,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
