Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Material Handler for the Facility Operations department at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Assigned to a primary Receiving Dock at
RWJMS or
CINJ, responsible for the receipt and verification of all incoming deliveries and prompt delivery of packages and mail to respective departments. Ensure accountability is maintained throughout the entire delivery process. Assist at alternate dock locations within
RWJMS and
CINJ as required to ensure consistent and adequate staffing across all loading docks.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Receives, verifies, and signs for all incoming packages, supplies and items ordered by the University.
- Delivers all packages, supplies and items received in an expeditious manner and maintains accountability and proof of said deliveries. Assist at alternate dock locations within RWJMS and CINJ as required and as directed by supervisor to ensure consistent and adequate staffing across all loading docks.
- Prepares packages for outgoing shipments and return to vendors.
- Assists in all activities related to the general organization of the Receiving function and ensures working areas are cleaned and maintained to promote a safe working environment.
- Develops a working knowledge of all computerized equipment and systems utilized in the Receiving function.
- Delivers interoffice, incoming and outgoing mail.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- One (1) year in a receiving and/or supply center environment, with experience in receiving, recording, storing distribution supplies in a receiving setting.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Valid Driver's license is required.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must be willing to undergo computer training in all related areas in order to perform assigned duties involving personal computers and other equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently enough to perform all of the aforementioned duties.
