Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Project Services Manager to join our talented team at one of our offices in Leawood, KS, Irvine, CA, or Emeryville, CA.

In this role, you will develop, progress, and forecast all phases of the project costs as well as all phases of the project schedule/plan using the most current industry practices and software. You will also provide overall leadership for multiple projects' cost, schedule, and planning functions. Integrate all project functions engineering, procurement, schedule, cost, technical & construction disciplines for seamless reporting to ensure effective Capital Project Delivery.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Is accountable for all project budget, invoicing, and cost forecasting as well as plans and schedules for the entire engineering, procurement, construction, and qualification (EPCQ) life cycle.
  • Provides technical leadership and oversight for all cost, schedule, planning, risk control/reporting project functions.
  • Supervises and motivates Senior Controllers (cost & schedule) as well as more junior department/project personnel.
  • Works closely with clients and project teams to calibrate processes to meet owner's requirements.
  • Develops and implements project controls strategy and integrates into the Project Execution Plan.
  • Presents and educates personnel/teams/organization on project controls practices and principles.
  • Leads efforts with estimating, procurement, and project management on project scope coordination, work package definition, contract development, and bid analysis.
  • Facilitates project constructibility, value engineering as well as alignment of cost & schedule data.
  • Provide oversight of project scheduling platform as well as Pull/Phase/Takt/Interactive planning sessions as required to develop, refine, and progress project plans.
  • Architect effective visualization, graphics & outputs for team communication.
  • Work closely with accounting, finance, and legal functions on project needs and organizational initiatives.
  • Lead work-group efforts to improve company processes, systems, and intellectual infrastructure to promote organizational learning and continuous improvement.

*For California applicants, the salary offered for this role is between $212,000 and $333,000 but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering or related technical field, construction management, or applicable experience.
  • 10+ years of experience as a project management or controls professional on capital projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and qualification (EPCQ) processes in the Pharma/Biotech Industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Services & Cost Engineering concepts.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in integrated construction management/cost reporting PPM platforms (Procore).
  • Experience with data management tools (MS Excel, MS Access, Power BI, etc.) as well as financial ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 Planner, Microsoft Project, vPlanner, BIM 360, and other visual & collaborative planning tools.
  • PMI, AACEI, or other industry certifications.
  • SME on contractor SOVs, earned value, and overall progress measurement and reporting.

Safety

  • Capable of working alone or as part of a team without a significant level of supervision.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods with extended computer use.
  • Experience working in both a Home Office and Field environment.
  • Up to 50% of travel is required to both project and regional office locations.
  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
