Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Advanced Practice Practitioner in Lakewood. This position is only available to full-time Advanced Practice Practitioners in the NoCo Division.

Salary Range:

$110,000-$150,000.00

Responsibilities

This position is a combined role including patient facing clinical responsibilities and administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

APP: 95% Clinical

- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.

- Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.

- Performs procedures with minimal supervision.

- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.

- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.

- Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.

- Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.

- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.

- Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.

- Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.

- May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.

- May promote/provide staff education

- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls

Lead duties:

Responsible for oversight of daily workflow/schedules for APPs, escalations, call outs, etc. 5% Administrative


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. AOCNP preferred. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

OR

Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. OR Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of practicing Clinical Nurse Specialist, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. AOCNS preferred (if applicable). Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
