TITLE: Casualty Claims Specialist (DP&E) AXIS Insurance's Environmental Claims Team is seeking a dynamic casualty claims professional to join our Design Professional & Environmental (DP&E) claims team as a Claims Specialist. This position will primarily handle bodily injury and property damages claims arising from environmental package policy claims for environmental contractors, specialty trade contractors, and professional environmental services. Ideal candidate will be a team player who has a positive outlook, flexible, organized, and efficient. Key Duties and Responsibilities: o Excels in best practices claim environment thoroughly documenting the claim process via claim files notes, coding, s and electronic documents storage. o Makes recommendations regarding resolution strategy for claims including reserve adequacy; executes such strategy on behalf of the company, with or without the help of outside counsel. o Exercise critical thinking by conducting investigations to determine liability, damages, and coverage and maintain appropriate claim file documentation. o Timely develop and make recommendations regarding resolution strategy for claims including reserve adequacy. o Obtains relevant policies, review policies for coverage, analyzes insurance coverage issues and timely draft coverage letters. o Collaborates in the defense and resolution of claims, preparing, and negotiating settlements. o Evaluates and maintain full pending claims diary in connection with the posting and maintaining of accurate reserves. o Maintains and develops relationships with brokers, risk managers and general counsels, and a variety of vendors. o Provides data and analytic based-informational support to claims management and underwriters. o Provides support to underwriters with respect to marketing efforts, policy wording, and trending discussions. o Participate in mediations and trials as required and travel if necessary. o Other duties as assigned. Required Education, Experience and Attributes: o Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interact with others, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a fast-paced, changing work environment. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to liaise with numerous customers, both internal and external o 3+ years of experience adjusting liability claims or equivalent/exposure. o Bachelor's and/or Juris Doctor degree from an accredited school or equivalent work experience o Hybrid Work Environment - 3 Days in Office: New York, Red Bank, Alpharetta, or Chicago Other Desired Skills & Characteristics:
Salary range: For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $75K -$125K. The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
