Responsibilities

The Administrator of CSU is responsible for managing and directing a 6-chair behavioral health crisis unit with 24/7 coverage including:

  • Developing and maintaining staffing schedules
  • Coordinating admissions and discharges
  • Developing and implementing daily treatment regimen in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team

In addition, this position will oversee the clinical operations prescreening, crisis support, scheduling, and drop-in assessments. The Administrator Supports coordination with other services for individuals admitted to the unit and will provide clinical leadership, management, and direct care to individuals admitted to the crisis unit.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing required, with a minimum of three (3) years in a lead/managerial capacity.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the California State Board of Nursing; Registered Nurse (RN)

Additional Requirements: A strong knowledge of county regulations, Title XXII, CMS, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care partial programs. Knowledge of NAPHS is a plus. CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. ACLS required within 60 days of hire.
