How you will make an impact:

The Director of Intake is responsible and accountable for directing the assessment and referral activities at the inpatient hospital. As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of assessment counselors and nurses in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, nursing assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals to external providers. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, nursing staff, fellow department heads and administration, external case managers, referral sources, managed care organizations, and functions as a liaison with hospital emergency departments.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, psychiatric nursing, counseling, marriage and family therapy or another clinical degree in the mental health field OR AA/BSN in Nursing.

Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting is desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds

License: One of the following is required - Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Practical Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR certification, Handle With Care and Service Excellence training must occur within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
