Primary Purpose

SoCalGas is excited to offer hands-on training opportunities through our 12-week summer internship program. This program provides students with the chance to put theory into practice, gaining valuable work experience that is both personally and professionally rewarding.

Role Overview:

As a Summer Business Administration Intern in our CP&A Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting your department in comprehensive project and process support. Your tasks may include:



  • Provide support for programs and projects: This includes conducting analysis, preparing project documentation, and tracking progress to ensure successful completion.
  • Assist with ongoing process improvement and cross-functional projects: You'll help identify areas for improvement, implement changes, and collaborate with different teams to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Coordinate and interact with internal department staff: This involves working closely with colleagues from various departments to perform a range of job functions, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication.



$19.05 - $40.50 / hour

Education



  • Full-time student in a 4-year College or University Business Program. Required
  • Must have at least one semester or quarter left before graduation. Graduating Fall 2025 or later. Required
  • A 3.0 Cumulative GPA or above is required and must be maintained throughout the internship. Required
  • Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Communications and Marketing disciplines. Preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in data analytics is preferred
  • Knowledge in Sharepoint and Dashboard are preferred
  • Experience with SAP is highly desirable
  • Work experience is desirable
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret accounting, financial data and concepts
  • Results oriented and attention to details
  • Have the ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions
  • Have strong interpersonal skills
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have program/project management skills or similar experience
  • Creative and strategic in problem solving


Other Qualifications



  • Be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the Summer with a flexible work schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite 3 days a week from primary work location.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation. This position requires travel to various locations as part of the internship experience. This includes site visits, tours, and networking events.

  • Freshman: $20.60/hr.
  • Sophomore: $23.00/hr.
  • Junior: $25.20/hr.
  • Senior: $27.40/hr.
  • Graduate Student: $38.60/hr.
