TOOL MAKER Pursuit Aerospace is a recognized leader in the manufacturing of high quality, complex components for the Aerospace Industry. We are currently in need of a Tool Maker Major Responsibilities & Activities: Layout, construct, alter and repair all types of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and gages to close tolerances, for production type operations where design and specifications are usually available but requiring ordinary development work as to mechanisms and details. Work from prints, sketches, specifications and general instructions of department foreman. Maintain accurate relationships, fittings and interchangeability of parts requiring tolerances of " .0002 inches consistently on a wide variety of tools, and " .0001 inches occasionally on some tools. Make necessary calculations, select allowances for spring, shrinkage, lapping, grinding, scrapping, fitting and finishing. Lay out fairly complex relationships or ordinary details from information available. Recognize, and report for correction, errors in blueprints, specifications or materials which would prevent economical production. Operate jig grinders, jog bores, EDM, surface grinders, millers, lathes, etc. performing difficult chain operations requiring various setups and methods to maintain close tolerances. Perform skilled bench work involving filing, scrapping, grinding, lapping, fitting, assembling, adjusting and timing to insure satisfactory performance. Make tool tryouts, work out mechanisms and details; fit and assemble parts, diagnose and correct troubles. Sketch or prepare tooling data and specifications. Work involves a variety of exacting machine and bench operations requiring skill and knowledge of tool making practices to work within the required tolerances; and, the interpretation and use of complex drawings. Layout and perform a sequence of work, making correct decisions to insure satisfactory results. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow standard safety regulations. Detect faulty operation or defective material, and refer all unusual conditions to superior. Record production, material and time data. Perform other similar and associated duties as required or directed. Minimum Requirements:
