Overview

At CAES Mission Systems Lansdale the Senior Business Intelligence Scientist improves the organization's path to decision making, through the use of data analytics, data visualization and data modeling techniques and technologies. The Business Operations Analyst will use these tools and concepts to identify trends that can help other departments, managers and executives make business decisions based on validated data. Additionally this newly-created role is central to modernizing and improving data-related processes in the organization, as well as getting the most effectivity from its business systems.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers
  • Develop and enhance data models for key business information
  • Constructs forecasts, reports, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data
  • Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
  • Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical program specifications and actionable stories within reasonable time estimates
  • Create and maintain documentation and procedures for data collection, analysis, and reporting processes
  • Develops capabilities for users to quickly identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e., data analytics or computer science) and;
  • 8+ years' relevant work experience in data analysis (i.e., business performance, financial analysis, database administration, BI developing)
  • 5+ years' of experience in report writing, developing and delivering dashboards and communicating findings verbally and visually at senior levels, including executive level briefing presentations

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in related field and 5+ years' directly relevant experience
  • Equivalent technical degree combined with relevant experience in data analysis
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Applications including Power BI, Power BI Report Server, Excel and Power Point
  • 5+ years experience in USG aerospace & defense industry
  • Collaborative work style with a willingness to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Programming expertise in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL), DAX, m-language, Visual Basic or other relevant languages
  • Relevant experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, IFS, Visual or equivalent
  • Related Business Operations Analyst work experience aerospace & defense industry
  • Related experience with Extract, transform, load (ETL)

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10% Travel - Training and Best Practice Sharing across Business Division

Salary Range: $126,121 - $178,052 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
