The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration focuses on the clinical and regulatory aspects of pharmacy practice. The mission of the Department is to participate in the preparation of students to provide pharmaceutical care in its varied practice settings. Graduating students are equipped with the necessary skills to adapt to a changing healthcare environment. Students are also provided with scientific fundamentals, ethics, and attitudes necessary to adapt their careers to changes in healthcare over their lifetime. This mission supports the overall mission of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in four critical areas: teaching, practice, scholarship, and service. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Assists with the Sterile Compounding course in the School of Pharmacy curriculum. This course is offered once a week during the Spring semester, with a one hour lecture and five sections of laboratory, each one hour and twenty minutes.
- Assists the students during class, helping to teach hands-on techniques and answering student questions.
- Monitors the progress of each laboratory session to ensure that each student completes the required components
- Provides feedback to the course coordinators on laboratory activities and assisting in the design of laboratory sessions
- Assists the course coordinators with laboratory setup and cleanup.
- Grades students during their practical exams.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two years relevant experience.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician and have worked for a minimum of two years in a hospital pharmacy, spending the majority of time in compounding sterile products.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in training others in sterile products is preferred.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
