PEER SUPPORT/RECOVERY SPECIALIST OPPORTUNITY- FULL-TIME (8AM-8PM) (5/2 Split - alternating weekends) Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is a 120 bed capacity behavioral health facility that provides psychiatric services. We specialize in treatment for adults, children and adolescents. Brentwood Behavioral offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services. Located in Flowood, MS, in Rankin County with close proximity to Hinds and Madison Counties, our outpatient services are within driving distance to many surrounding areas. We help individuals and families achieve optimal mental health, resulting in improved quality of life. Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and talented Full-time Peer Support/Recovery Specialist. (8AM-8PM) (5/2 Split - alternating weekends). The Peer Recovery Specialists will work with other providers to ensure implementation of the Individualized service plan (with active patient involvement) through appropriate linkages, referrals, coordination, follow-up to needed support services, and direct care services. Specific activities include: assisting patient in their community, follow-up care to assess adherence to medical recommendations, assisting patients with travel in reaching important meetings and appointment as indicated in the treatment plan, and assisting patients with managing their multiple health issues. Through an integrated approach, the Peer Support Specialist utilizes their own experiences to offer individuals assistance in achieving stability and obtaining and maintaining the level of coping and basic life skills that is consistent with their treatment goals. Peer Recovery Support Services are an evidence-based model of care which consists of a qualified peer support provider who assists individuals with their recovery. Peer Recovery Specialists may deliver services in-person or through telemedicine or audio-only. Benefit Highlights
Qualifications Minimum: Highschool diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years experience in a mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting), residential or group home setting. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health related field and two years of experience in the mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting). 1-2 years experience in a psychiatric or CD inpatient, residential or group home setting.
