Assistant Director, Student Systems

Wilton Woods Center

Description

Participates in the overall management of the office of Enterprise Information Services and Assessment including student systems, special education systems, instructional systems, and customized school-based applications development and integration; provides day-to-day guidance and management for student systems within the district; oversees system and application evaluation to ensure optimized platform performance, seamless integration, expanded reporting capacity, and scalability; controls risk to protect confidential data; monitors and reports on current initiative statistics; provides recommendations on technology advances to meet future division needs for student system and school-based applications; leads in planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating the activities, program functions, personnel, physical, and fiscal resources of the assigned office; assists with strategic planning and goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in student information technology systems, special education systems, learning management systems, or a related field, some of which shall have been in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and theories of student information systems and applications architecture management.
  • Knowledge of various integration methods and protocols.
  • Knowledge of the methods, materials, procedures, and practices of data security in technology applications.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, county, and state regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Skill in planning and assessing technology program objectives.
  • Skill in the development and integration of modern technology into current systems.
  • Skill in personnel, financial, and administrative management.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to conduct complex administrative studies and identify trends or patterns in data that communicate key insights.
  • Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects.
  • Ability to interpret, assess, and continually develop workflows, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to plan and conduct professional development activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, and citizens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Experience with federal and state student data privacy law requirements.
  • Experience managing cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google.

$125,538 - $190,976
