Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Data Control Clerk II within the Office of the Director/Cancer Epidemiology Services/New Jersey State Cancer Registry at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
The primary purpose of the Data Control Clerk II, under the direction of the Director of the New Jersey State Cancer Registry (
NJSCR), or designee, is to review and enter data into the
NJSCR cancer surveillance and research databases; and, to provide general office services and clerical support as required by the department.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Gathers data from reports and records according to prescribed procedures.
- Checks reportsfor duplication, completeness, and compliance with prescribed requirements.
- Checks, edits, classifies, corrects, and tabulates material.
- Locates and arranges data in response to requests for information.
- Requests data omitted from reports or incorrectly reported.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Two (2) years of clerical experience in a related field, one (1) year of which shall been experience with PC software packages.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- This multi-site position requires working in Trenton and New Brunswick, NJ and traveling to various locations throughout the state.
- Must have valid driver's license and possesses own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
