The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Territory Sales Manager (Power Tools) will report to the Sr. Director, NA Sales, Cleco and be located remotely in either Eastern New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine, to support that territory. The individual supporting this territory should be located in these states. This position will have regular interaction with marketing, operations, customer service and other support groups. The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for developing and establishing sales relationships with Distributors and Direct End User markets.Direct end-user business typically requires an increased hands-on approach to meet the customer demands and best local competition. The Build (Responsibilities)
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in assigned territory to generate new business to exceed sales targets
- Increase sales and improve customer service to existing account base, while prospecting new customers and growing market share within the designated territory including distribution and direct accounts
- Proactively listen to and understand the customer's needs and identify viable solutions, technical support, and business opportunities
- Utilize Value Selling techniques to win business
- Obtain and maintain excellent product knowledge to present entire Apex Tool Group product line, demonstrating technical knowledge regarding function and application
- Communicate throughout organization - sales, marketing, and operations as necessary to support and develop business
- Maintain knowledge of competitive products and prices related to Power Tools
- Opportunity and funnel management to forecast sales by product category in salesforce.com.
- Weekly updates to summarize accurate opportunity pipeline by product category.
- Report on activity within the territory, user feedback, trends, competitive actions and any recommendations to improve productivity
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field or equivalent of 5+ years of outside sales or sales engineer experience
- Military experience or experience with military contracts preferred
- Professional Value Based Selling experience
- Mechanical and technical aptitude
- Demonstrated track record for past sales growth
- Industrial and/or manufacturing outside sales experience
- Industrial Distribution and OEM markets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to travel up to 50% within Territory to support sales growth.
This position's anticipated annual salary range is $76,000- $114,000 with a sales incentive plan; at plan, this position's bonus opportunity is 31%.Apex Tool Group's competitive compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, life and short term and long-term coverage/insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, educational assistance, 15 days paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays.
