Systems Engineer

Contingent upon prime contractor approval

Purpose:

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role you will get to provide technical assistance to the Director of M&S Enterprise Engineering, who is responsible for chairing design reviews, establishing architecture and design standards, managing Enterprise Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and synchronizing M&S across the Agency.

Job Description:

Perform analyst duties to elicit stakeholder requirements and mission needs.
Define requirements and perform functional analysis using Model-based Systems Engineering techniques and tools.
Draft and review technical documents.
Support technical reviews.
Facilitate M&S and digital engineering transformation initiatives.
Represent Enterprise Engineering in agency tiger teams and working groups.

Qualifications

Must have 7+ years of related professional experience
Must have a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
Must have the capability to develop and clearly present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel.
Must be proficient in Microsoft tools , e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word.
Must be a pro-active, self-starter.
Must have practical experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and other languages typically used for system modeling (i.e. DoD Architecture framework and UML)
Must have experience using MBSE tools, such as IBM Rhapsody, and integrated requirements tools, such as DOORs Next Generation (NG)
Must have the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to non-technical and non-MBSE trained people
Must have experience following MBSE processes, such as IBM Harmony.

Desired Qualifications

MS in applicable field, preferred.
MBSE certifications and training (i.e. OMG, INCOSE, etc.) , preferred.
Ballistic Missile Defense System (MDS) domain experience working in MDA, preferred.
Experience with definition, design, development, verification and validation, and analysis of MDS M&S (ground test and constructive or distributed virtual simulation of the MDS and its elements and components, preferred.
Experience with analysis, test, and systems engineering of M&S for one or more elements of the MDS (i.e. Patriot, THAAD, GMD, Sensors, or C2) , preferred.
Exposure to MDA test events and activities supported by M&S products and services, preferred.
Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers (geographically diverse) of different perspectives, skillsets, and backgrounds, preferred.

Security Requirements:

Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10%
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Must be able to work in an office environment
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $100,000 - $142,500 per hour
