Job Description Summary
Nazareth University invites applications and nominations for the role of Clinical Assistant Professor for the new Physician Assistant Program in the College of Interprofessional Health & Human Services ( CIHHS). The Clinical Assistant Professor will oversee the ongoing curriculum evaluation to maintain program expectations and support accreditation compliance for an innovative hybrid program. This principal faculty role is 50% teaching, scholarship and service and 50% administrative. Some on-campus presence is required, especially during intensive on-campus components of the program and to meet program expectations.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the development and oversight of a comprehensive program self-assessment strategy and framework of an innovative hybrid curricular model, designed to document program effectiveness and foster program improvement.
  • Review, revise, and assist in the development of programmatic instruments for data collection.
  • Work with Institutional Research and Assessment to collect relevant data to support programmatic assessment.
  • Facilitate faculty in setting benchmarks to direct the assessment process.
  • Obtain and utilize data from a variety of sources including internal and external benchmarking, research findings and outcomes data.
  • Perform critical analysis of all student and program assessment data and lead faculty in applying the results leading to action plans for program improvement.
  • Manage assessment timelines and documentation of assessment cycle milestones.
  • Support the Program Director to ensure ongoing compliance with ARC-PA accreditation standards related to program self-assessment.
  • Establish well-defined expectations for student learners and faculty research mentors regarding Capstone project hypothesis formulation, proposal writing, responsible conduct in research, presentation skills, methodological approaches, and database utilization.
  • Maintains accurate student records and enforcing academic policies consistent with the University, College and Program.
  • Develop and deliver academic courses as assigned.
  • Participate in the student admissions process.
  • Participate in the academic counseling of students as assigned.
  • Serve on departmental, college and university committees as assigned.
  • Participate in developing, reviewing and revising the mission statement, program goals and program competencies, as necessary.
  • Conduct and disseminate scholarship.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills

  • Master's degree
  • Current certification in area of clinical practice
  • Eligibility for licensure in state of residence
  • At least three years of prior higher education experience
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Skilled in working with a variety of different student learning styles
  • Ability to perform duties autonomously with minimal supervision
  • At least three years of prior clinical experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and successfully meet deadlines

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Experience in the development and oversight of a comprehensive program self-assessment strategy and framework, designed to document program effectiveness and foster program improvement
  • Experience with ARC-PA standards
