Role Description:

The Fleet Intern will support the Fleet Operations department in various initiatives, including the Fleet Rideshare program, new unit acquisition, and planning for electric vehicle infrastructure. The intern will collaborate with senior management to develop policies and procedures, interact with managers and consultants to identify operational gaps, and provide fiscal analysis for departmental monitoring. The position will also involve the reconciliation of financial and contractual accounts.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

As a summer Intern, we will provide you with:

  • Performance of assignments under the direct supervision of a department lead
  • Performance of other work-related duties as needed



Your essential functions include, but are not limited to:



  • Support Fleet Initiatives: Assist with the Fleet Rideshare program, new unit acquisition, and planning for electric vehicle infrastructure.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine policies and procedures for fleet operations.
  • Business Process Analysis: Work with managers and consultants to identify gaps in business processes and recommend strategies to improve operational continuity.
  • Fiscal Analysis: Provide fiscal analysis and monitor department expenditures, ensuring that financial activities align with budgetary constraints.
  • Account Reconciliation: Assist with the reconciliation of financial and contractual accounts related to fleet operations.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on fleet operations, expenditures, and overall departmental performance.

Required Experience:
Experience working in an office environment
Experience with data analysis and creating reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Minimum Education Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program
Must have at least 30 credit hours complete
Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail in data management and report preparation
Organizational skills to manage tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills & Qualifications



Preferred Experience:
Experience in fleet operations or management
Experience working with fiscal analysis, budgeting, or financial reconciliation
Familiarity with fleet management systems or software
Preferred Education Requirements:
Preferred Majors: Business Management, Urban Planning, Finance, Communications.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in analyzing data to drive operational decisions.
Strong understanding of fleet operations, including acquisitions and planning.
Ability to identify gaps in business processes and suggest improvement strategies.
