Role Description:

The Innovation Management Intern will explore emerging technologies in the water utility sector and assist with planning, research, and execution of innovative projects. The intern will gain exposure to innovation management processes and contribute to market research, pilot programs, and grant writing efforts.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

As a summer Intern, we will provide you with:



  • A real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connections with recent college graduates and our company leaders
  • Performance of assignments under the direct supervision of a department lead
  • Performance of other work-related duties as needed



Your essential functions include, but are not limited to:



  • Understand innovation management in the water utility sector and develop skills in research, data analysis, and project management.
  • Conduct market research, assist with benchmarking, support pilot program execution, and participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Prepare market research reports, project timelines, stakeholder communication plans, and grant proposals.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Required Experience:
Experience in research, data analysis, and report preparation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional settings.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program
Must have at least 30 credit hours complete
Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average
Required Skills:
Strong research and analytical skills.
Project management and communication abilities.
Proficiency in technology tools for research and data analysis.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications



Preferred Experience:
Experience in environmental engineering, sustainability, or prior exposure to grant writing.
Basic understanding of sustainability principles or environmental challenges.
Interest in innovation management or business administration coursework.
Preferred Education Requirements:
Preferred Majors: Business Administration, Innovation Management, Project Management, Communications, Marketing, Renewable Energy Studies.
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to grant writing and funding proposal preparation.
Knowledge of sustainability principles.
