Business Development Representative

About the Role
Are you passionate about expanding community connections and building lasting relationships? As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening our credit union's ties with Select Employment Groups (SEGs) and community partners in the Las Vegas area. You'll actively seek new SEG partnerships and enhance engagement with existing ones, helping drive membership growth, open new accounts, and promote our financial products and services.
This position primarily serves the Las Vegas, NV area with occasional travel to other locations in Southern California to attend meetings or other events.

Key Responsibilities
SEG Management and Relationship Building:
- Manage a portfolio of SEGs, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Conduct regular visits and presentations for SEGs, organizing events, and scheduling workshops.
- Participate in company orientations and events, showcasing the benefits of credit union membership.
- Refer leads to the Relationship Management team and ensure active follow-up.
- Collaborate with key SEG contacts to explore new access channels for members.
New SEG and Partner Acquisition:
- Identify and reach out to potential SEGs via networking, cold calling, and follow-ups.
- Develop partnerships with businesses where we can engage and serve their employees.
- Coordinate with our Social Impact team for deeper community engagement opportunities.
Collaboration and Strategy:
- Work with the Business Development and Marketing teams to create strategies for growth.
- Partner with branch managers and internal teams to support SEG engagement and new product ideas.
- Assist the Relationship Management team in following up on referrals and contact management.
Sales and Reporting:
- Meet assigned growth targets by driving new account openings and developing business.
- Actively recommend financial solutions and credit union products to members and leads.
- Maintain profiles and track activities for SEGs, providing monthly sales and activity reports.
- Communicate with the VP of Business Development to align on strategies and results.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience:
- 2+ years in business development, community outreach, or relationship management (financial services experience preferred).
- Experience presenting to large groups.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience in business development or sales.
Skills:
- Strong relationship-building, sales, and presentation abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with a proactive approach.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Proficient with CRM software, Microsoft 365, and capable of managing multiple tasks and relationships.
- Ability to cold call, generate leads, and manage a sales pipeline.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel. Company vehicle may be provided.
- Flexibility to attend events outside standard hours as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to travel at least 60% of the time and work in primarily office-based settings at partner sites.
- Must be able to occasionally attend and set up for outdoor events.
- Ability to perform tasks on a computer for up to 6-8 hours a day.
- Light lifting (up to 20 lbs) and emergency stair access required.
