What We Offer The Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance team in a multi-disciplinary working environment to insure safe work practices are followed and plant equipment is properly maintained and serviced. This is a day shift role, Monday thru Friday. Major Responsibilities:
- The Maintenance Supervisor reviews and assigns work to maintenance technicians, ensures prompt repairs to emergency breakdowns, develop and execute training plans for thedevelopment of the maintenance technicians, provide technical support to maintenance technicians to include hands on support when required.
- Manage and report on, time and attendance, for maintenance staff (approx. 3 direct reports).
- Uses information relating to equipment, including agreed operating and maintenance strategies, visual observations and specific equipment diagnostic analyses to develop a schedule of activities which will maximize the availability to manufacturing and minimize the operating and maintenance costs of that equipment.
- Develops and manages a timetable of tasks that require completion, working with maintenance planner, manufacturing, production planning, and R&D, in addition to outside contractors
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are being completed within a scheduled time, that maintenance materials and spare parts are properly inventoried and available, and assists the technical team to establish preventive maintenance plans.
- Represent Maintenance in daily and weekly meetings to coordinate activities with Production and provide necessary resources to support the site
- Work with maintenance planner daily to coordinate, prepare, and communicate work plans / planned jobs with manufacturing supervisors, maintenance resources, and production planning departments
- Procure all materials and parts needed to complete work plans / planned jobs for Maintenance and Reliability Team
- Assist with coordination of quarterly Maintenance shutdowns
- Prepare daily work-orders and Safe work permits
- Maintain CMMS system with technical data on spares inventory
- Create maintenance operating procedures and edit existing maintenance operating procedures to reflect work performed
- Ensure that Safety and Health concerns are given primary consideration in all activities.
- Ensure compliance with all site-wide Safety and Environmental requirements. Maintain strong safety awareness and knowledge of plant processes and safety procedures;
- Participate in company safety processes including but not limited to: Safety Team participation, JSBO activities, interactive safety training, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and others
What You Offer Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors' degree plus three (3) years, an Associates degree with six (6) years, or at least 11 years of maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industrial maintenance supervisory experience
- Experience in a chemical plant is preferred
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- A basic knowledge of root cause analysis, basic understanding of E & I, piping, and isometric drawings and knowledge of rotating, electrical, instrument and facility equipment are essential.
- Must have working knowledge computers; SAP PM maintenance systems and Microsoft computer systems, i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, etc is preferred. Must be able to quickly become proficient in purchasing Maintenance Materials and Services and Technical Material Warehouse management.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of time resource required for a variety of maintenance activities across the site.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and acquire resources to minimize maintenance costs for the equipment receiving service, i.e. overtime, parts and contracted services, etc.
- A basic ability to trouble shoot rotating mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrument systems through root cause analysis. Able to investigate, communicate, and troubleshoot equipment problems with OEMs.
- Be mechanically inclined, possess good math skills, and highly detail orientated
- Ability to read and navigate prints, drawings, and technical manuals.
- Possess excellent organization skills.
- Be a timely decision maker, able to make tough decisions in a timely manner; a bias for action.
- Have effective communication skills, practices active listening skills, able to communicate openly and effectively, providing timely and relevant feedback to facilitate appropriate actions by himself and others.
- Able to routinely lift and carry up to 55 lbs of weight, climb stairs, lift and pull 10 lbs of weight in the overhead position, stoop and bend at the knees and waist without concerns
