About the role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Tank Farm Operator will be responsible for the daily operations of the truck and railcar loading and unloading at the facility/plant.

Responsibilities:

• Load/Unloading trucks and railcars
• Sampling tanks, trucks, railcars
• Tank transfers/decants from truck to truck, truck to tank, railcar to truck, etc.
• Operate boiler to steam tanks and railcars
• Use of overflow equipment / devices
• Operate Vapor Combustion Unit
• General plant upkeep to include custodial duties
• Performing all tasks in a safe and cautious manner
• Other tasks as directed by supervisor

Typical shift:

5 x 8 hour per week Monday - Friday with alternating weekend coverage as required

Skill Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience working on a Tank Farm preferred
• Strong work ethic, available as needed
• Must be fully committed to following PSM, safety procedures, and programs
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing operating conditions

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to pass physical (requirements to be determined)
• Be able to:
• pass the Basic Plus safety class at Houston Area Safety Council, in English
• pass the HAZWOPER training class
• climb stairs and/or ladders and pass a Functional Strength Evaluation
• lift and/or drag 3-inch x 25 foot or larger hose
• meet the fall protection requirements
• stand and work on your feet for most of your shift (not including breaks)
• work outside in any weather condition, if given appropriate attire
• pass a Respirator Fit Test (RFT)/Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
