Staffmark is hiring a Legal Assistant on behalf of our client in Columbia, SC. This role provides essential administrative and legal support to partners and/or associates within the organization.

What you'll be doing:



  • Compose professional correspondence and transcribe dictation.
  • Electronically file documents at the state and federal levels.
  • Manage attorney calendars and coordinate schedules for out-of-town trips and depositions.
  • Prepare legal pleadings and set up new client files in ProLaw.
  • Communicate with Judges, Court Officials, outside counsel, and clients.
  • Open and sort mail, submit check requests, and make time entries within legal software.
  • Answer phone calls for multiple attorneys and handle general office tasks as needed.




Position Details:

Pay: $43,000-$45,000 Annually

Hours: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant with administrative and legal tasks.



Skills you will need to excel in this position:



  • Knowledge of current state and federal electronic filing guidelines.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and a team-oriented attitude.



Preferred Skills, but not required:



  • Civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with ProLaw software is highly desirable.
