Responsibilities

The S&T Director will use their expertise and experience to shape the growth of Page's Science / Technology sector in Denver and beyond. Research universities, commercial life sciences and innovation hubs are specific areas of opportunity. The core functions of this role are to position Page as an expert in the field, advance best practices, and mentor new and existing leaders while growing client relationships in the region.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & Practice Planning (15%);

Working with S/T sector leadership, create a comprehensive plan to build expert teams and practitioners in sector specialties that align with the sector strategy to expand the S/T practice in Denver;

Develop and implement long and short-term growth and expansion strategies for the sector that consider regional and market conditions and specializations;

Understand and externally express the firm's mission, vision, goals, and actively contribute to their achievement through the lens of the national S/T practice.

Client Relationship Management & Business Development (40%)

Identify aspirational clients and projects, and proactively develop strategies for connection, networking, and meaningful engagement;
Meet with new and existing clients to bolster Page's client base and ensure excellent client service;
Work with leadership to develop and execute strategic business development plans driving S/T project wins in California and beyond;
Actively guide project pursuits and make recommendations for decisions in accordance with the S/T sector and firm strategic plans, in addition to leading strategic pursuits including client interviews and presentations.

Project Leadership & Best Practice Development (20%)

Lead critical and strategic projects, providing expertise and guidance to leaders and project teams to ensure high quality and effective project delivery;
Lead the dissemination of best practices for sector-specific design and documentation standards in the region;
Create and reinforce processes that encourage efficiency, precision, and accuracy.

Showcase Sector Expertise (15%)

Pursue robust regional speaking engagements, articles, and other visibility channels as an S/T subject matter expert;
Regional-level participant and contributor to sector-relevant associations, industry meetings, and networking events;
Stay abreast of science and technology trends and understand how they will impact practice.

Lead, Mentor & Professionally Develop Science & Technology Staff (10%)

Share knowledge with sector leaders and critical staff through formal and informal training processes;
Contribute to talent acquisition efforts for strategic hires;
Oversee the training and mentorship process for staff in sector specialties;
Cultivate and uphold a positive and productive team culture;
Coordinate with office and sector leaders to assign and delegate project-related work based on team member strengths and workload and encourage cross-pollination;
Collaborate with operational and managerial peers in goal setting, performance reviews, salary recommendations and bonuses for critical sector staff.


Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field;
  • Professional license required;
  • At least 15 years of experience;
  • Ability to make authoritative and far reaching decisions;
  • Ability to negotiate with top-level officers of other organizations;
  • Demonstrate a high degree of foresight and mature judgment;
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of a particular market sector and/or client;
  • Ability to serve as the balanced voice for Page and client on the project team.

Base Compensation: $160,000 - $230,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
