Medical Assistant, Urgent Care - South Weymouth

Brigham & Women's Physicians Organization
United States, Massachusetts, Weymouth
541 Main Street (Show on map)
Jan 01, 2025
We are seeking a full-time, 36-hour Medical Assistant to join our team! Since Urgent Care is a 7-day-per-week operation, the schedule for this role will include 12-hour weekday shifts, coverage every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday), as well as some holidays. As true clinical support partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the care team.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, examinations, procedures, immunizations, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.
We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned departments; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the building during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes).

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program
  • CPR certification from a program approved by the American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • National Medical Assistant certification preferred - Clinical support experience, specifically in an urgent care setting.
