Splash Pad Facility Coordinator

The City of Sterling Heights is seeking Facility Coordinators for the Dodge Park Splash Pad. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of duties to prepare the Dodge Park Splash Pad area for the demands of the patrons, daily supervision of Splash Pad Attendants, completing daily splash pad reports, and enforcing splash pad rules. Starting rate is $18.00 hourly.

Job Responsibilities


  • Act as a customer service agent to all patrons
  • Provide direction to Splash Pad Attendants
  • Maintain accurate records and forms such as employee timesheets, accident reports, Splash Pad communication reports, and cash reports
  • Perform daily inspections of the splash pad with regard to safety and cleanliness
  • Monitor patrons as they enter and exit the splash pad
  • Monitor patrons during the utilization of the splash pad and enforce safety rules and guidelines
  • Collect non-resident fees
  • Assist patrons with questions and/or concerns
  • Assist in incidents and/or accidents
  • Assist other Splash Pad Attendants with tasks as directed
  • Monitor the facility for trash and debris and perform the appropriate cleanup
  • Regularly check splash pad water chemical levels and document readings
  • Assist coworkers and patrons with identifying and addressing other customer service concerns
  • Communicate regularly with other attendants, Splash Pad Leaders, Recreation staff, and Recreation Superintendent to ensure splash pad operates smoothly and efficiently
  • Oversee the enforcement of the Splash Pad and Park rules at all times
  • Complete accurate accidents, incidents, and/or department reports
  • Render first aid in case of minor injuries
  • Assist in light-duty cleaning and setup/breakdown of equipment and chairs
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as directed


Minimum Qualifications


  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass background check and complete CPR, First Aid, and Concussion training.
