The Cyber SOC Specialist assists in the day-to-day Cyber security measures taken within policy, procedure, and technical systems to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all organizational information systems.

As a Cyber SOC Specialist, you will:

    • Monitor network for security issues.
    • Monitoring the SIEM's and other security system alerts
    • Escalate security issues to engineering when necessary.
    • Investigate and document security alerts.
    • Perform testing for network vulnerabilities.
    • Assist in penetration testing.
    • Ensure remediation of vulnerabilities and security deficiencies according to policy.
    • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
    • Subscribe to threat notification networks, new regulations, and information sharing networks to stay current on requirements and new threats to the industry.
    • Participate in special projects or assignments, as necessary.
    • Support security cases as needed.
    • Assist in modifying existing SIEM and security alerts to align with Nicolet's environment.
    • Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.

    • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills (application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, TCP/IP, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, etc.)
  • Pursuing a Degree in Information / Cyber Security, or Business with certifications relevant to Information / Cybersecurity.
  • Prior work experience with information technology.
