How You Will Make An Impact

Aptima is seeking a Biomedical Engineer Intern for summer 2025 in our Ohio office to design, develop, and test wearable sensor systems for health an performance monitoring. You will sit within Aptima's Performance Augmentation Division and have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the company to provide the best service to our broad customer base.

You Can Expect To

  • Apply engineering principles to design, develop, and test wearable sensor systems for health and performance monitoring
  • Conduct signal processing and data analysis for physiological signals such as EMG,EEG, and ECG
  • Perform data collection, cleaning, and structuring to support advanced analytics and inferential insights
  • Develop software tools and scripts to ensure sensor functionality and integrate them into broader systems
  • Collaborate on sensor prototyping, including hardware design, firmware development, and mechanical components
  • Research and apply innovative methods to optimize sensor accuracy and reliability
Requirements
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
  • Enrollment in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of signal processing techniques and statistical analysis
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate technical concepts effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with C programming, firmware, or hardware development
  • Experience working with physiological sensors or conducting human performance research
  • Exposure to data visualization tools or methodologies
