Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions ( SHP) is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to work in the Methodology and Statistics Support Department.

The role of the Temporary Research Assistant is to work closely with the Sr. Methodologist in data collection, QA and manage different datasets, analyze and communicate results of analyses.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with Sr. Methodologist to clean and analyze data created across the different disease-specific projects.
  • Assist Sr. Methodologist and AHBPCE creating reports and manuscripts.
  • Assist Sr. Methodologist to communicate with AHBPCE regarding data character, results and outputs (e.g., cleaned data matrices) as needed for different evidence synthesis products: reports for policy decision-making, public and civilian consumption, formal academic manuscripts.
  • Carry out data extraction tasks as assigned.
  • Consolidate and QA integrity of data extraction in online data platform.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's in data analysis related fields: e.g., statistics, data management, biostatistics, epidemiology, sociology, psychology,pharmacy, medicine.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid knowledge of study design and risk of bias across designs.
  • Ability to identify and extract quantitative data from research reports (e.g., published academic manuscripts.
  • History of participation in at least one evidence synthesis project.
  • Experience with online evidence synthesis platform.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with meta-analytic statistical techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with and experience with R and/or Stata is a plus.
  • Experience with creation, cleaning and management of data repositories.
