Who We Are

We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport's growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role

This is an 8-week program from June 10th - August 13th.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM EST

Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the National Campus - Orlando

Hourly rate: $16.00

The Adult Competition Summer Intern will gain hands-on experience across various program types under Adult Competition, including USTA Leagues, Adult Tournaments, ITF Masters Tour World Championship Teams, and Adult Red Ball/Social Play. This internship offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects that provide insight into the operations and strategies behind USTA programming. The intern will have the chance to contribute both collaboratively and independently, fostering professional growth and understanding of USTA's mission to grow the sport of tennis.

    Assist with the organization and execution of USTA Adult League programming, including logistics, scheduling, and communication.
  • Provide support for Adult Tournaments, including registration management, event coordination, and post-event reporting.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of ITF Masters Tour World Championship Teams initiatives.
  • Support Adult Red Ball and Social Play programs by helping to develop and promote events that encourage participation.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze program performance and generate recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage administrative tasks, such as data entry, report preparation, and maintaining program documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing updates on assigned projects and sharing insights.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks, ensuring deadlines are met with quality results.
  • Actively engage with team members by asking questions and seeking feedback to enhance learning.
Who You Are
  • Knowledge of tennis competition, specifically USTA Adult or Junior programs (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (G-Suite) tools such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a group setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative and ask questions.
  • Prior experience in event coordination or program support is a plus.
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of tennis.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
