Job Summary

Otsuka's internship program, Intern the Otsuka Way (InTOW), offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop critical skills while contributing to meaningful projects. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, learn about the complexities of the pharmaceutical industry, and gain insights into potential career paths. By combining practical experience with professional development, our program prepares interns for future success. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, as well as insightful lunch and learns.

Job Description

Overview:

  • Are you interested in how organizations support patients? At OPH, we are dedicated to improving patient access to treatments and ensuring they stay on course with prescribed therapies. As an intern with our Health Experience Team, you will gain hands-on exposure to the essential behind-the-scenes processes that help bridge the gap between prescriptions and patient care.

  • As an intern, you will work closely with the OPH Health Experience Team to support various key strategic functions that impact patient outcomes. These may include:

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems: Learning how CRM tools help manage patient and provider interactions and improve service delivery.

  • Support Center Operations: Supporting our phone, email, and chat-based help desks that provide critical patient and healthcare professional support.

  • Digital Tools and Experience: Assisting with internal and external digital resources that streamline patient access to treatments and information.

  • Resource Development and Roll-Out: Contributing to the creation and distribution of materials for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

  • Throughout the internship, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how systems, processes, and collaborations between internal teams and third-party vendors ensure that patients receive the care and information they need. You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects, develop problem-solving skills, and gain insights into the healthcare support industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Collaboration: Work alongside internal teams and third-party vendors to develop and launch educational materials and resources for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Review program data, analyze results, and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements and program optimizations.

  • CRM & Support Center Engagement: Learn about the setup and management of CRM platforms, support systems, and how they facilitate patient requests and inquiries.

  • Budget & Approval Process: Gain exposure to managing project budgets, understanding fund allocation, and navigating the internal approval and compliance processes.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • By Fall 2025 candidate must be considered a/n undergraduate junior or above

  • Major or field of study? Preferred to be in Business, Marketing, Communications.

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship.

  • Can commit to full duration of internship program.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Relevant coursework or experience

  • Strong interest in healthcare, patient experience, or related fields.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to extract insights from data.

  • Detail-oriented and proactive in managing tasks and meeting deadlines.
