Assistant Engineer

Iteris is looking for an Assistant Engineer seeking to join a talented group of professionals to promote thriving communities by applying technology to solve complex issues in transportation. You will work, in partnership with Iteris engineering staff, with state, regional, and local agencies to deliver a variety of transportation planning and engineering projects to improve our communities. This opportunity is available in our Southwest geography of the Pacific Region and will be required to work on-site in the Phoenix office.

What you will be doing:

• Perform transportation, traffic, or systems engineering work in the development of traffic signal timing, intelligent transportation systems, active transportation, transportation design and/or operations projects
• Develop design plans and specifications; prepare systems engineering analysis, reports and budget estimates, and analyze traffic and transportation operational systems under the direction of senior engineering staff
• The position will require coordination with Iteris staff, public agencies, contractors, vendors, and other consultants
• Local travel will be required for project-related tasks and client meetings

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 0-3 years of experience in transportation engineering, transportation planning, or related field
• Familiar with tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred

Iteris anticipates paying between $71,000 and $85,000 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
