Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Career Readiness Coordinator for Career Exploration and Success Department. Reporting to the associate director for internships and professional development, the program coordinator will support the administration and responsibilities of the Internships and Professional Development Team. This will include supporting career readiness initiatives for the Office of Career Exploration and Success by helping students to develop the career readiness competencies that employers seek, unpacking their co-curricular experiences, and making connections to the world-of-work through reflecting on these accumulated experiences.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Develops partnerships with campus experiential education providers (e.g., undergraduate research, study abroad, leadership, service learning, etc.) to help participating students make connections between their experiences and the world-of-work
- Works with the Industry & Student Connections Unit to plan SOREND (Student Organization Reception & Employer Networking Dinner), an event dedicated to connecting accomplished Rutgers student leaders with key Rutgers employers.
- Reviews student and employer applications for the Rutgers Internship and Co-op Course.
- Provides career advising to students navigating their personal career journey (i.e., discover themselves, explore career and academic pathways, develop skills and competencies, and pursue their goals).
- Oversees the program request system, recruiting CES colleagues to present and assisting with the planning and execution of in-person and virtual programs. This support may include but is not limited to, presenting career-related content in courses and student trainings/organization meetings, supporting high-impact and large-scale programming, and other "all-hands-on-deck" endeavors, as needed.
- Supports CES Career Fairs, RSSI interview processes/events, and major events.
- Participates in appropriate meetings, committees, and working groups.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous presenting/public speaking experience.
- Experience with Qualtrics and Smartsheet.
- Working with student leaders on a college campus.
- It is preferred that the program coordinator work 30-40 hours a week, though candidates who need to work a lesser number of hours per week will be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- Attention to detail and clear communications skills.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
