Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Business Development Optimization Analyst.

Job Duties

Evaluate opportunities within the company's existing asset portfolio to improve earnings by increasing capacity, raising utilization and improving reliability, while also evaluating which assets should be slated for retirement or sale; support the economic evaluation efforts and provide information and data to build consensus among stakeholders for expansion capital project decisions within the company's logistics network; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine ways to increase throughput and generate incremental revenues associated with new project investment; work with Technical and Operations organizations to understand costs and timing for improving asset integrity and reliability; collaborate with stakeholders to build and maintain financial models to perform economic evaluation of projects or contracts; support project development, including project scope, economic analysis, and justification, through internal staged-gate technical and economic reviews; aggregate and analyze financial and operating data to facilitate strategic decision making; provide ad-hoc financial analysis and financial modeling support; review and participate in negotiating commercial contracts with customers, and connection and other operational agreements with partners; participate in the development of presentation materials for senior management; and collaborate cross-functionally to understand, and evaluate business opportunities and projects.

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in a related occupation.

Education Level

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, or closely related field.

Required Skills

Leveraging knowledge of financial metrics analysis, and applying it to oil and gas assets in a methodology that garnishes insights on opportunities to gain a competitive advantage; identify and develop multiple alternatives to increase marketability of company's products through organic investment, collaboration with third parties, and acquisition; collaborate with technical and operational organizations to understand costs and timing for improving assets integrity and reliability; develop complex financial models to perform economic evaluations of projects and contracts that fulfill business needs and provide opportunity for strategic deployment of capital to incrementally increase revenue; and negotiate with third party competitors to drive value added business while maintaining a strategic footprint that drives organizational value.
