Second Shift - Somersworth (United States of America)

Work Shift Time:

3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs maintenance and repairs on all machinery, equipment and systems in the Plant. This includes adjustment, alignment, troubleshooting, installation, monitoring and other duties required to minimize machinery and equipment downtime without compromising workmanship and quality.
  • Construct, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant and process equipment. Examine worn or broken parts to determine cause of failure. Disassemble, clean, repair, or replace worn parts. Lubricate and reassemble equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and PdM tasks on plant machinery and equipment with a focus on improving performance of mechanical systems.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork or computer documentation related to job functions including, but not limited to, work orders, inventory, shift notes, time sheets, records, logs and purchasing documents.
  • Assists engineering staff and follows instruction as provided by engineering on equipment modifications or upgrades.
  • Uses inventory control system for retrieving items from inventory stock rooms in performance of assigned duties. Communicates with MRO technician(s) as needed to identify stockroom issues and to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Assists and consults with engineering staff for equipment and/or facility modifications and upgrades requiring advanced levels of knowledge and skills.
  • Monitors work performed by contractors as needed.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents/occurrences that would trigger implementation of the contingency plan
  • May perform additional emergency response duties as required by the department supervisor or manager
  • Construct new equipment or modify existing equipment with the aid of sketches, blueprints, or engineering assistance.
  • Ability to learn the setup and operation of shop equipment, such as lathes, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, welding, cutting or other metal or woodworking equipment.
  • Observes gauges, meters, and recording devices and reports deficiencies to qualified personnel.
  • Perform basic plumbing installations including water and compressed air piping.
  • Move Chemicals and or wastes within the facility and maintain chemical storage areas in a clean, orderly manner. Follow applicable Environmental Health and Safety department procedures.
  • Maintains a safe work environment in accordance with all company Safety Procedures and OSHA regulations
  • Supports the Policy commitments of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This includes identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement projects that meet the Policy Commitment Objectives.
  • Possess aptitude and willingness to learn basic electrical tasks in performance of assigned duties.
  • Must maintain personal tool set to perform basic job functions.
  • Other duties and tasks may be assigned for the performance of this position.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance, vocational experience, or related environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical machine maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical instructions, plumbing and/or piping diagrams, blue prints, and drawings, etc.
  • Proficient technical skills including ability to utilize gauges, meters, calipers, micrometers and other mechanical measurement devices and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Decision making skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Good decision making skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proved ability to learn, understand, retain, and apply mechanical knowledge in a machine maintenance environment.
