About the role

The Productivity Specialist is a hands-on leader responsible for driving measurable improvements across operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability. This role focuses on developing and executing projects that improve performance across the business, working collaboratively with teams to achieve results without direct authority over them.

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver on productivity goals by identifying opportunities to reduce costs and increase revenue.

  • Collaborate with plant and regional teams to develop practical solutions that improve operational performance.

  • Drive improvements in key areas such as equipment uptime, throughput, waste handling, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide support and guidance to plants to ensure productivity targets are met, stepping in with recovery plans when needed.

  • Track and report measurable results, highlighting cost savings and operational gains to senior leadership.

  • Apply lean tools and other process improvement methods to solve problems and sustain results.

  • Mentor and coach teams to build a culture of continuous improvement, including supporting Lean Practitioner certifications and training.

  • Share successful project outcomes across the organization to replicate results in other areas.

  • Act as a positive influence, working safely and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science from an accredited institution required, focus in engineering manufacturing preferred.

  • 3 years of plant operations related experience (WtE, energy, chemical, heavy industrial, manufacturing, process).

  • 3 years leading development and execution of productivity projects across multiple plants/regions.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Other Qualifications

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification, preferred; ability to certify as Lean Practitioner within 9 months, required

  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving

  • Good organizational skills and communication skills

  • Ability to manage a project team of between 2-20 people

  • Strong continuous improvement mindset

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Sharepoint

  • Ability to navigate financial P&L and quantify/summarize project impacts.

  • Demonstrated performance of executing "hands on" plant productivity projects.

  • Experience from a organization with a mature lean system preferred but not required (Toyota, Danaher, Honeywell, etc)

  • Ability to lift/carry 20lbs
