About the role

Job Description

About this role:
As the Reworld Honolulu Truck Trailer Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating CDL-A vehicles incompliance with DOT and Reworld Standards. This position operates a tractor/trailer combination with a
capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Truck Trailer Operators transport hazardousand non-hazardous waste between the facility and the Client's sites multiple times per shift. This position isreporting to the Fleet Manager and located at the HPower Facility in Kapolei.

Position Duties:

  • Daily operation of fleet vehicles to transport waste between site and landfill
  • Plan routes, complete inspections of vehicle/cargo, reports any incidents
  • Couple and uncouple trucks and trailers multiple times per shift
  • * Perform vehicle checks to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in goodworking order
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods/waste
  • Maintain organized logs of working hours, following applicable state and federal regulations
  • Working conditions are generally in an outside setting, requiring exertion of moderate to heavyphysical effort, and may be exposed to dirt, fumes and hazardous waste
  • Use pressure washing equipment, generators, liquid pumps, and working around specialty vacuumtrucks/equipment and/or other equipment as needed
  • Perform work activities related to chemical, oil, and water spills

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check and MV DrivingReport
  • A valid State of Hawaii driver's license with CDL A endorsement and a clean driving record
  • At least (5) years' experience driving a tractor/trailer combination preferred
  • Be comfortable driving a manual transmission vehicle and familiar with air brakes
  • Available to work OTR 21 days and home 7 days on repeat [DOT applicable hours]
  • Shift schedule can include days/nights/weekends and holidays
  • Respond to call-outs or emergencies, including being on call
  • High attention to detail

Physical Demands of the Role:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, on a routine basis
  • Ability to regularly climb ladders, stand/walk/sit/kneel/crouch, and balance
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and work at heights while wearing harness and other applicable safety
  • equipment
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator if environmental conditions require
  • Ability to travel up to two weeks a year, including overnight travel
  • Ability to use and move handheld equipment (ladders, pressure washers, generators, hoses, etc.)
  • Work environment - outside weather conditions, exposure to the noise level

What Reworld Offers You:

The expected hourly rate for this position is $28.00-$35.32/hr. The final base figure will take into account avariety of factors including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably,and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
