POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior ERP Engineer will lead the technical development, deployment, and maintenance of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. This role will require strong expertise in ERP platforms and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including production planning, inventory control, and supply chain management. The Senior ERP Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the ERP system aligns with business needs, optimizes operations, and integrates seamlessly with shop floor and enterprise systems.

CORE FUNCTIONS



  • Design, configure, and customize ERP systems to support manufacturing-specific processes, including production planning, materials management, inventory control, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure data integrity across the ERP system, shop-floor systems, and connected platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in ERP modules related to manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure data integrity across the ERP system, shop-floor systems, and connected platforms.
  • Implement workflows, scripts, and APIs to enable automation and data exchange between ERP and other systems.
  • Develop and maintain system interfaces and integrations with shop-floor systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), SCADA, and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
  • Lead ERP implementations, upgrades, and rollouts, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain system documentation, including technical specifications, configuration settings, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to implement system customizations or integrations.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience as an ERP Engineer or similar role required, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing-specific systems, such as MES, SCADA, or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) preferred.
  • Experience with EDI concepts and modules preferred.


Required Licenses



  • Certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate, Microsoft Dynamics Certified, APICS CPIM) preferred.


Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge



  • Strong technical expertise in ERP platforms such as SAP (e.g., SAP PP, MM), Oracle EBS, Plex, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Infor CloudSuite Industrial.
  • Strong knowledge of database management and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau) and familiarity with ERP table structures.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing concepts like lean production, Six Sigma, and MRP.
  • Proficiency in integrating ERP systems with shop-floor technologies and IoT devices.
  • Ability to speak English, Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Ability to contribute to team building, development engagement and motivation.
  • Ability to provide stakeholder management.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to provide budget management.
  • Ability to contribute to SOX Compliancy.
  • Ability to stay current with industry best practices.


Travel



  • Up to 30% travel may be required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead: working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and is a knowledge resource for other team members. No direct reports or supervisory responsibility.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.


Physical Activities



  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: standing, talking, hearing, and the use of hands, wrists, and fingers in repetitive motions.


Visual Acuity



  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.


Working Conditions



  • The worker is subject to an office environment, primarily involving sedentary work, extensive use of a computer, and frequent virtual collaboration, with travel to other sites or facilities as needed.
