Overview

MEC is looking for their next Quality Manager for our WI Fabrication facilities including Mayville and Beaver Dam facilities. This is an incredible opportunity to work with a national leader in contract metal fabrication!

In this role, you will provide leadership of MEC's Quality Systems and team. This is a great position for a change agent who has passion for driving quality improvements to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. MEC's Quality Manager will take an active role in leading the Quality activities that meet and exceed our customer requirements.



Responsibilities

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:

    Plan, develop, implement, train and assess the effectiveness of MEC's quality management system to improve internal and outgoing product quality that will achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures accurate completion of weekly and monthly quality reports, KPI's and works with plant manager, operations and finance to evaluate against objectives; adjusts plans based on variances. Participate in daily/weekly/monthly management Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reviews preparing RCCAs as needed.
  • Interact with all functional areas in the company to assure seamless processes are in place that are effective and efficient to meet the quality standards and expectations set by the customer.
  • Take an active role in identifying quality issues, non-conformances, and lead root cause corrective action of those issues ensuring that quality meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  • Work directly with customers and present quality data, describe root causes, understand our manufacturing processes, and communicate effective plans.
  • Able to lead and develop a Quality Assurance team including QA Technicians and other quality support staff.
  • Lead and/or coordinate all internal and external audits to ensure compliance to customer requirements, ISO 9001, and/or IATF TS16949 standards.
  • Work with Quality Engineering team to support the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.


Qualifications

What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 plus years of quality management experience ideally in a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with quality improvement tools (Lean Six Sigma, AIAG core tools, etc.) is also required.
  • Professional certifications (CQA, CQE, etc.) would be preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate, motivate and drive change in a cross functional team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills utilizing 8-D and other structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Have knowledge of the IATF standards and have worked with Registrars.
  • Experience with metal fabrication, welding, assembly, and paint is preferred.
  • Proficient in data analysis using MS Office suite.
