Communications Specialist - Aviation

STV is seeking a Communications Specialist for our Aviation group in our Houston, TX office.

This position will report directly to the Communications Managers in assisting our Aviation group to establish and execute a communications plan and manage stakeholder and public touch points for aviation projects. In this role you will deliver consistent and professional communications to interested parties and the public to promote and drive a positive perception of the aviation program. The ideal candidate has a creative mindset, strong organizational and communications skills and is passionate about client service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Communications Managers, working directly with the client to create a unique program brand
  • Assist with program leadership to develop yearly strategic communication plans to meet program goals
  • Assist with implementing communications initiatives for the program
  • Assist with project stakeholders to establish and manage a consistent flow of internal and external communication streams with a focus on logistics, project status updates, and public relations/news through various avenues
  • Promote the program brand by designing and updating super-graphics, signage and wayfinding, digital content via kiosks, social media, and a program specific website
  • Assist in creating, publishing, installing and managing comprehensive airport maps for public awareness during construction
  • Update and maintain internal graphics library for reference
  • Assist in writing original content for social media, website, collateral materials, etc.
  • Implement strategic concepts, messaging, and positioning content within written and presentation materials
  • Assist in planning and coordination of events such as groundbreaking, team milestone celebrations, grand opening, etc.
  • Consistently collaborate with the STV Corporate Communications team to identify, share and promote storylines that elevate STV's brand a leader in aviation program management/construction management and design

Technical Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years' experience working as a Communications Specialist, preferably within the aviation or AEC industry
  • Client-focused and has a strong work ethic
  • Ability to effectively coordinate all aspects of communications plan
  • Clear and effective writing skills with the ability to produce content for a variety of communication channels including blogs, speeches, internal stories, press releases and other collateral
  • Oversee, monitor and enhance program presence in both traditional and online media
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with enhanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud with enhanced proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop
  • Demonstrate full proficiency in presentation design, development and use
  • Ability to interpret various content types and information to transform into campaigns, presentations and high-impact visuals
  • Self-motivated decision maker and problem solver
  • Photography and videography skills are a plus
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Marketing/Communications, PR/Journalism, or related discipline
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Range:

$67,936.61 - $90,582.14
