National Grid is hiring an Analyst of Senior Energy Engineer in New York
Location: Syracuse, Albany, Brooklyn, or Long Island, NY (Hybrid)
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

Join National Grid in our mission to achieve 100% fossil-free heat by 2050! As a Senior Energy Engineer on our Customer Energy Management NY team, you'll play a key role in designing and developing energy efficiency (EE) and heat electrification solutions for residential and multifamily customers, driving sustainability and innovation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead technical analysis and strategic planning for energy-efficient technologies such as heat pumps and building weatherization solutions like insulation and air sealing
  • Validate and support development of EE program offerings, ensuring alignment with NY State climate goals and company strategy
  • Interpret and apply energy savings calculations and methodologies from the NY TRM, NYSERDA reports, and industry studies to ensure compliance and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and trends, integrating innovative solutions into our residential and multifamily EE portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to optimize energy savings and customer benefits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Energy, Mechanical, or Environmental preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in EE/demand-side management programs
  • Expertise in energy audits, modeling, savings calculations, and benefit-cost analyses.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
  • Energy management, building science, and technical certifications such as CEM, BPI, ASHRAE, etc. strongly preferred
  • Professional Engineer license a plus

Salary
$105,000 - $123,000 a year - Syracuse or Albandy, NY
$126,000 - $148,000 a year - Brooklyn or Long Island, NY
Salary commensurate with location and experience

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
