Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Project Assistant for The Center for Prevention Science at the School of Social Work. This position will deliver varied administrative and scheduling support work for a grant-funded project centered on workforce development training and technical assistance to New Jersey-based substance misuse prevention coalition leaders and members. An excellent opportunity for real-world experience with grant execution, management, and service provision.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Creates graphic training information materials; executing marketing and registration processes.
- Develops and maintaining tracking systems.
- Handles direct communications with potential attendees and event providers.
- Conducts the work towards the development of a virtual library of recorded events and training resources.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, education, communications, information technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- Social media expertise.
- Event coordination experience.
- Knowledge of culturally responsive approaches.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Solid understanding of and experience with Microsoft Office software, Zoom platform, and Box storage.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly motivated, focused and results oriented.
- Strong customer-support mindset.
- Sensitive to cultural diversity and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to complete assignments independently on a deadline and work productively as part of a team.

- This position requires 15 to 18 hours per week and requires availability within the 8:30 am - 5:00 pm business-day window.
