Overview |
The Center for Prevention Science's mission is to develop and disseminate knowledge through research that builds the capacity of community-based organizations to create changes in public policy and other environmental conditions that cause social and health disparities. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator of the externally funded,
SAMHSA supported, Northeast and Caribbean Prevention Technology Transfer Center (
PTTC), the Prevention Fellow will participate in the Building Our Leadership and Diversity (
BOLD) Prevention Fellowship Program, as part of a national cohort.
This externally funded
BOLD Prevention Fellowship Program will focus on building prevention workforce capacity to carry out prevention efforts for Black/African American communities and building the
BOLD Fellows' foundational knowledge and skills to be effective substance misuse primary prevention professionals. This position will receive mentorship from host site prevention staff associated with their placement and will be exposed to the day-to-day workings of the site. The finalist will work on projects as assigned by their host site and will directly participate in learning and capacity development activities coordinated by the
PTTC network. They will travel to national conferences/trainings at least twice per year for multiple days. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Associate for The Center for Prevention Science within the School of Social Work.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Participates in prevention efforts at site host to carry out prevention services to the community, which includes working directly on specific organization priorities and assignments as directed by supervisor and host site lead.
- Participates in PTTC training, mentor classes, and research projects along with Fellows in the national cohort.
- Performs other Duties as assigned - which includes bi-monthly check-ins with supervisor and work team leads.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in social work, prevention science, public health, human services or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience.
