The Project Crew Supervisor reports to the Manager - Construction and provides supervision and direction to Project Crew employees, insuring safe and effective execution of slip repairs, ECD installation & maintenance, erosion repairs, ROW maintenance, anomaly dig excavation, valve replacements and additional operations support consistent with company policies, procedures and government regulations. The Supervisor works with area management and engineering to coordinate the completion of capital and expense projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and provide the safe direction to employees regarding slip repairs and associated project work consistent with company and governmental requirements.
  • Participate in LOTO and gas handling procedures for maintenance and construction projects.
  • On-Call for emergencies or operational assistance.
  • Establish and measure crew goals and performance.
  • Conduct personnel reviews and oversee the career planning and employee development for those employees in the project crew.
  • Review, understand and provide recommendations for project construction drawings.
  • Responsible for adhering to operation and maintenance budgets and capital projects along with helping develop operating budgets for prospective areas of responsibilities.
  • Assist area operations and engineering with construction estimates for project planning.
  • Provide guidance to the crew in establishing daily and weekly priorities and reporting.
  • Assure the crew has the resources and information to make informed decisions regarding day-to-day operation of facilities in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures and ensure operations are maintained as required.
  • Assist in planning and execution of assigned projects across the division.


Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or experience in lieu of degree.
  • 8+ years of related pipeline industry experience. Experience with geohazards and associated slip repairs strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must reside within 50 minutes of the reporting work location.
  • Familiar with the Federal Code of Regulations as it relates to Natural Gas Pipeline Construction and Operation.
  • Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Ability to work within and determine stringent deadlines for others.
  • Knowledge and understanding of state and local DOT rules and regulations.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner with both private and public entities and officials.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate across functions to improve business processes.


Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • Both office and field working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting, driving, or standing.
  • Overnight travel will be required up to 50% of the time.
  • Subject to extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery. Personal protective equipment is required.
