Leidos DSI is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Senior Systems Engineer! We serve high profile customers including all branches of federal, state, and local government, as well as commercial clients. Leidos DSI delivers industry-leading digital communications and workflow software along with excellent customer support.

Location: Candidate must be with located within commuting distance of Washington DC Office.

The Challenge:

  • Interface with government system owner/customer stakeholders frequently and directly, for planning, implementation and sustainment of systems hosting mission critical business applications
  • Design, develop, and implement infrastructure systems supporting customer business applications
  • Sustain system availability by implementing and managing industry standard tools for infrastructure and application availability monitoring
  • Design and test disaster recovery plans for supported systems and applications
  • Install, maintain and support virtualization environments supporting Windows VMs (VMWare)
  • Secure systems for security audits, then initiate and support the audit review process with Enterprise IT Security
  • Triage system outages and issues and engage resources as needed
  • Research and analyze new and existing technologies and tools to provide more efficient architecture, development techniques and processes

What Sets You Apart: (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • U.S Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret level security clearance
  • Five plus (5+) years of systems engineering background
  • Ability to be onsite in the DC office as needed, between 3-5 days a month
  • Strong written and verbal customer communication skills.
  • Experience directly interfacing with customer stakeholders on systems development and sustainment activities
  • Capacity to build, sustain, and optimize Windows Server OS VMs in VMWare environment
  • Capacity to develop and sustain Configuration Management Artifacts for supported systems that include but are not limited to system design documentation (SDD) and network diagrams
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support occasional after hours/weekend projects or critical support functions (almost all after hours work is performed via telecommute)

You Might also have:

  • Familiarity with NetBackup or similar enterprise back up technologies
  • Familiarity with NetApp or similar enterprise SAN systems in support of virtual servers in VMWare environment
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with VMWare Replication Services and Site Recovery Manger
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
