Overview

The Over Water Impact Location (OWIL) group is developing a system to configure, command, monitor, and utilize sensors mounted on unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) to analyze the accuracy of DoD test weapons. Responsibilities for an Electrical Engineer include working with a small team to design solutions to integrate commercial components on the USV to collect data. Other tasks involve calculating power distribution among components, designing optimal component layout, and data collection, distribution, and analysis. This opportunity provides experience of integrating software with hardware components for mission-focused work on DoD test events.

This position will work on-site in our Princeton, NJ office.



Responsibilities

Work with multi-disciplined engineers to conduct unit tests on commercial component integration, improvements of the overall system; designing optimal placement of components within payloads and on the USV; software to control components; sourcing optimal components and assisting with overall system testing. Additional responsibilities include supporting government test events at various locations.



Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • Due to government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
  • Experience with standard lab equipment

The salary range is: $60,507-$80,172/annually. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
